Working from home today & going on a small vacation in a week!

I’m home today with the kids.  A nice break from the daily work grind (kind of, I’m still technically “working” - hehe).  My grandma lives with us and she has a doctor appointment today so she’s not here to help with the kids while my husband and I are at work, so I ‘volunteered’ to stay home!

And…

My little sister is graduating next Wednesday, so we’ll be in So. Cal for about 5 days taking a mini-vacation.  We’re taking the kids to the beach because they never have been, I havent been in over 10 years and my husband has only been once in his life.  I’m so excited!  We’re going to make a day of it.

Oh, and I’m down another pound!

Well, its Tuesday, after a holiday weekend

I wish I could say  went to the gym, but I didnt.  I can say that I did watch what I ate though, and somehow, I’m down in weight!  Woo hoo!  heheh

We went to a public pool with the kids and some friends.  The weather was great!  (Mid-90’s = perfect!)

I hope everyone had a great weekend —— now its back to the grind.

Does hig fiber mean high calorie?

It was recently brought to my attention that foods high in fiber can help sustain hunger longer (I know, I know, I must live with my head in the ground to not have known that).  Anyway, I was at the grocery store this morning looking for high fiber food/snacks for work.  It seems like anything with high fiber has between 100-150 calories per serving.  To me that seems pretty high since I’m trying to limit my daily calorie intake to 1200 (between 300-400 calories per meal).

It just seems like its impossible to get all the daily recommended nutrients on 1200 calories.

Is there a happy median or am I going to have to give a little to get a little?  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Here’s to a new week

A new week, new goals, new opportunity to make a difference!  Make it count!

 Cheers!!

Water Aerobics in Las Vegas (just venting)

So, I just spent the better part of an hour trying to locate water aerobics classes in Las Vegas and only found classes offered at YMCA.  The frustrating part is (along with other local gyms) is I need to me a member ( not to mention the closest YMCA is an hour away!).  I dont want a membership because all I want is the water aerobics.

I also tried the local parks and recs, with no luck!

 Grrrr!

Please pass the motivation…

Ugh!  It’s only been 3-4 weeks since I began this “change of lifestyle: and need a good modivational friend.  Let me tell you, I knew it would be hard, but I feel like eating is easier, funner and more enjoyable!

Ideally I would like to lose about 30 pounds.  I just wish it is as easy to lose as it is to gain.

Someone?  Anyone?
